The cup is full for West Ham supporters. Having come to spend their Sunday afternoon at the stadium to encourage their team which hosted Arsenal, their day turned into a nightmare.
The Gunners simply rolled over their opponents. It was 0-4 at halftime, the fourth pawn being signed by Leandro Trossard.
Shortly after the restart, an aerial view of the stadium showed West Ham supporters leaving in numbers. Disgusted, there were hundreds, if not thousands, of them leaving the stadium while there were still several dozen minutes to play.
The score increased further and stood at 0-6 in the 66th minute. It will remain as is until the referee’s final whistle.
This score is doubly historic since it is, according to the Opta statistics platform, the heaviest home defeat in the history of the Hammers while it is the biggest away victory in the history of Arsenal.
In terms of the ranking, Arsenal is keeping pace with the leading pack. The Gunners have 52 points, two less than Liverpool and the same as Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
