Anass Salah-Eddine makes the switch from Ajax to FC Twente on the last day of the transfer period. The left back and midfielder also played in Enschede last season. The 22-year-old left back is mentioned as an alternative to Gijs Smal, who has an expiring contract in Enschede.

Twente will transfer approximately one million euros, including bonuses, to Ajax for the arrival of Salah-Eddine, who was under contract in Amsterdam until mid-2025. The club from Enschede has reached an agreement with the Dutch youth international on a contract until mid-2027 with an option for one more season.

“It is very nice to be back at FC Twente and to see the players again tomorrow,” says Anass Salah-Eddine on the club website. “I had a great season at the club last year and I hope to continue that. The fact that I am signing my contract today, on the same day as Myron Boadu, is very special. I know him well from my time at AZ and we have always kept in touch.”

“We know Anass well, he made an excellent impression on loan last season,” says Arnold Bruggink. “It is great that we can now permanently take over this talented player from Ajax. Anass is a player we have a lot of confidence in now and in the future.”

Salah-Eddine already played seventeen games on loan for FC Twente last season and made an excellent impression at De Grolsch Veste, especially in the second half of the season. The multifunctional left back earned a new opportunity at Ajax during his time at FC Twente, where he was allowed to play regularly under Maurice Steijn at the beginning of this season. However, that situation changed after the arrival of Borna Sosa and Ajax’s disappointing performance.

Since then, Salah-Eddine has been sidetracked at Ajax and the defender has to settle for minutes at Jong Ajax in the Kitchen Champion Division. This situation did not seem likely to change for the time being. Not even now that Gastón Ávila will be out for the coming months with an injury and Ar’jany Martha has not yet made an indelible impression in Ajax’s main squad. The man-marker represents an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of 500,000 euros.
