Amiens-Paris FC (1-1): the Parisians snatch a draw after added time

Adama Camara, followed by his teammates, exults in front of the kop of 200 Paris FC supporters who had made the trip to the Unicorn stadium. The midfielder has just equalized (1-1) in the 90th + 6 with a nice shot after a good collective sequence started by the young Florian Pannafit (3rd appearance in L2). The first goal of his career in L2 from Adama Camara (28 years old), former Racing midfielder (N2), who has worked for a long time in active life (delivery boy, bus driver, postman), is certainly crucial for the rest of the season. It allows the Parisians not to be let down by Amiens (5th) in the race for the playoffs.

“It’s my first professional goal, it comes at the right time,” smiles Adama Camara. It’s indescribable… We pushed throughout the second half, we had a pretty good match overall, defeat would have hurt us. We are rewarded at the end with this goal, it’s great! Our supporters came in large numbers, the first thing that came to mind was to go and celebrate my goal with them. »

This draw snatched at the twilight of added time against a team which remained on three victories, is in fact only a fair reward in view of the performance delivered by the PFC who struck 22 times on goal (including 7 on target). A rather rare figure for an away match, but which clearly reflects its influence on a high-level L2 meeting. But before Adama Camara’s equalizer in the form of relief, the Parisian team came across a great Régis Gurtner in the Amiens goal and twice found the uprights.

For his first, after three training sessions with his new team, Nouha Dicko was rather interesting with his movements and his transfers. The 31-year-old striker, who arrived on Tuesday from OFI Crete (D1 Greece), could even have celebrated his debut with a goal, but Gurtner brilliantly intervened on his “Madjer” attempt (12th). The Amiens goalkeeper was once again decisive (23rd) on the half-volley from Cyril Mandouki, who was playing his 200th L2 match, all in the jersey of Paris FC where he arrived in 2017.

“Even in difficulty, we don’t give up”

But while he should have led, Paris FC was trapped (1-0, 55th) in an action where Kolodziejczak, and Jules Gaudin stopped playing by claiming a foul from the great Andy Caroll, the former from Newcastle or Liverpool. A passivity exploited by Val-d’Oisien Louis Mafouta, (ex-Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône), 7th goal of the season.

But often clumsy as on this header from Josuas Lukembila (65th), who tried a lot but without success then unlucky on this cross-shot from Gaudin diverted onto his post by Gurtner (85th) and the strike from Julien Lopez (90th + 3) on the cross, the PFC had the merit of believing in it until the end despite the headwinds. Yoan Koré had in fact blocked his back during the warm-up and Yves Dabila, ill all day, was only able to hold his place for an hour.

“I am disappointed by the result but not by our match, it was a lesser evil to equalize,” admits Stéphane Gilli. If we had been a little fairer in the last gesture, we could have hoped for better. But coming away with a point is very good. Even in the face of difficulty, we didn’t give up, we gave everything to bring home the draw. This shows the state of mind of my players. We hit more than 20 times on goal, we lack efficiency, but what is positive is to create so many situations. Even more so against a solid team that is difficult to unbalance and often wins its matches 1-0. In terms of statistics, we perhaps deserved a little better. I congratulate the players for bringing home this point and I am proud of the game we are offering. The players have a lot of fun. There is the result, but also the game plan and the football we play. »
