It was approved for the first time in Alcala de Henares an Annual Sponsorship Program. This program will be duly published to ensure the principles of freedom of access, publicity, transparency, non-discrimination and equality.
Gustavo Severien, deputy mayor and Treasury Councilor, has highlighted that the aim is to expand the resources of the local treasury by promoting the search for new sources of financing. Private sponsorships are presented as a financial tool that can be used to continue offering activities of general interest to citizens.
For those interested, both natural and legal persons, in sponsoring municipal activities included in the 2024 annual sponsorship program, they may present their proposals to the Alcalaí council, specifically to the Technical Sponsorship Commission, for evaluation together with the technicians responsible for each sponsored activity.
What is the Annual Sponsorship Program?
The Ordinance Regulating Private Sponsorships of municipal activities of the Alcalá de Henares City Council, published in the BOCM on April 29, 2015, establishes in its article 14.1 that “in the month of January of each year, the Local Government Board will approve the Annual Sponsorship Program of the City of Alcalá de Henares, which will include all the activities that can be sponsored during the year”.
Based on this ordinance, the Department of Finance has requested from the different council departments of the City Council the activities that were planned to be carried out totally or partially through private sponsorship, for the preparation of the annual sponsorship program for the 2024 financial year.
Once this information has been compiled, an annual sponsorship program 2024 has been prepared, which includes the different municipal activities that may be subject to private sponsorship, as established in article 3 of the Ordinance, as well as the indicative date of celebration of the themselves.
The program includes events such as Holy Week, Health Week, Complutum Renacida, Noche en Blanco, Alcalá Suena, Environment Week, Patron Saint Festivals of the Holy Children, Fairs and Festivals of Alcalá, Mayor’s Week, Virgen del Val Festivals, Mobile Alcalá, Heart Week, Cervantes Chico CongressCervantes Week, Don Juan, World Heritage Declaration, Cervantes Sports Award, and activities during the month of December until the Three Kings Parade, as well as school cross-country events throughout the year.
Furthermore, in accordance with article 14.3 of the Ordinance, the annual sponsorship program It does not exclude other activities that may be sponsored, following the established process.
