McLaren was the first team to unveil its livery for the 2024 season in January, but also announced that it would unveil the car on February 14. This has now happened, without a live stream and too much spectacle.

In 2023, after years of stable performance behind the three top teams, McLaren had a season in which things started dramatically. However, a few upgrades in Europe meant that the team suddenly started competing for podium places and pole positions and Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri were able to fight at the front more often behind Max Verstappen. The Briton and Australian would eventually take McLaren to fourth place among the constructors and were ultimately unable to overtake Mercedes and Ferrari, mainly due to a slow start to the season. Yet McLaren was so pleased with the performance of the two drivers that they signed Piastri in 2023 until the end of 2026, while Norris extended his contract with the team in January and put an end to all transfer rumors.

McLaren 2024

In 2024, McLaren hopes to challenge the constructors Mercedes and Ferrari for second place behind Red Bull Racing in the championship. It will be a fierce competition that was also quite exciting last year. The team hasn’t changed too much in terms of livery. The colors orange and black still dominate. Perhaps something has been added to black, but the changes are not very special. After the livery, the team’s car has now also been unveiled: the MCL38.
