Adrien Fourmaux (Ford) in ambush on the Swedish Rally

A day of levitation for Adrien Fourmaux at the wheel of his Ford Puma Rally on the snowy and icy tracks of the Swedish Rally. Failing to thrill for Sébastien Ogier, the intermittent of the Toyota family show, at least we were able to enjoy the demonstration of the Frenchman who is in 4th place this Friday evening in the general classification at 1’26”3 from the Finnish leader Esapekka Lappi (Hyundai).

“The conditions are crazy, with incessant snow and driving after dark is not easy. I sometimes have trouble seeing the turns,” breathed Adrien Fourmaux at the end of SS7. A problem which does not seem to affect the efficiency of the Japanese Takamoto Katsuta with his Toyota Yaris. Even if he admitted to being scared on SS7, narrowly avoiding leaving the road, also blinded by the snow and the night. The Japanese remains within bumper distance of Esapekka Lappi and his Hyundai this Friday evening, the two being separated by 3”2.

Surprisingly, Fourmaux felt he was driving “carefully and even very gently, because sometimes you have to trace your lines on the snowy road. If I want to go to the end of this rally I have to be careful.”

A Rally of Sweden which very quickly lost two of its favorites, with the retirement during the fourth special of the Estonian Ott Tanak, who after a spin sent his Hyundai into a wall of snow and the Finn Kalle Rovenperä following an impact on his rear axle after leaving the road.
