Adrian Mannarino (17th in the world) took advantage of the abandonment of his opponent, the Australian James Duckworth (106th), when the French number 1 was leading 6-2, 3-1, to qualify for the semi-finals of the ATP 250 tournament in Dallas, Friday.
Mannarino will face for a place in the final on Saturday evening the American Marcos Gijon (67th), surprise winner of his compatriot Frances Tiafoe (seeded N.1 and 14th in the world) 6-1, 6-4. The other semi-final will pit Americans Tommy Paul and Ben Shelton, respectively 15th and 16th players in the world.
