Achievements and Activities of Salamanca Doryoku Judokas

Several activities have focused the attention of the Salamanca Doryoku in recent days. On the one hand, three veteran judokas from the Charro club have traveled to Madrid to compete in the Spanish Cup organized by the Madrid Judo Federation in Villaviciosa de Odón. The veteran judokas were Jesús Martín, Israel Del Olmo and Juan Gómez. Each of them competed in his age and weight category, with Juan Gómez achieving third place in more than 100 kg in the M4 category. He achieved one victory and two defeats against very experienced judokas. Jesús Martín and Israel Del Olmo did not manage to get on the podium despite having had very good fights. Israel, recent Spanish veterans champion, suffered from a rib injury and had to abandon his participation.

In addition, several judokas from the club attended the federation training organized by the Judo Federation of Castilla y León this past weekend. These training sessions are carried out monthly in Valladolid and are counted towards the formation of the teams. Throughout these months, several judokas from the club travel to Valladolid to participate in these events and be able to practice Judo with other judokas from the community.

This same weekend there are several judokas who have been summoned by the Federation to represent us in the Junior Sector phase. All of them had a great Castilla y León Championship a few weeks ago. Those classified are Héctor Rodríguez, Andrea Rodríguez, Natalia Delgado and Marco Pinto.

In addition, Adriana Cabezudo has been called up since last season she achieved third place in the final phase of the Spanish championship. Marcos Vítores will also compete in Vitoria representing La Rioja since he has been called up for his second place in the final phase of the Spanish Junior championship held last year.
