Abodi, amendments on sports work confirm commitment to reform – Other Sports

“The amendments approved in the Milleproroghe decree on sports work confirm respect for the principles that inspired the reform and, at the same time, the commitment to work, as we are doing, on a gradual implementation of the new rules and their improvement, to put enabling employers, starting from amateur sports associations and clubs, and sports workers to see their mutual and legitimate interests respected”. The minister for sport and youth, Andrea Abodi, declared this in a note. “Hence the exemption from the payment of withholding tax for athletes who obtain prizes, up to a maximum of 300 euros, thanks to their performances in amateur sporting events and the longer deadline granted for the obligations to be implemented through the Register of amateur activities, I am referring to communications to the employment center and to the single employment register which can be carried out up to 31 March 2024 without incurring sanctions – he added – And again, the extension to 30 June 2024 for the choice, by of the instructors and technical directors, of the social security regime to be adopted. In the meantime, the Observatory on sports work has begun to operate, a body foreseen in the reform, which deals with the analysis of the impacts of the same, listening to the stakeholders and evaluating any corrective measures that could improve its effectiveness and sustainability”.
