AA Gent Supporters Frustrated as Club Struggles with Winter Mercato

Frustration, that must be the feeling that the Ghent supporters are currently experiencing. In the winter mercato, the Buffalos saw three attacking forces leave with Orban, Fofana and possibly also Cuypers. The incoming balance looks meager, or will there still be a surprise?

Cash register rings with dizzying amounts

AA Gent cashed in nicely with the transfers of Orban and Fofana to Lyon, Hugo Cuypers is also said to be on his way to the MLS. The only question is whether that transfer will still go ahead, since nothing was added offensively on the last day of the winter mercato.

Chicago Fire would have eleven million euros (+2 million bonuses) for the ex-player of KV Mechelen, among others, and Cuypers himself would certainly like a move to America.

Stunt with ‘new’ attacker

With a thinned out core, the Buffaloes started 2024 very poorly. In the cup they unfortunately lost to Club Brugge, later defeats against KV Mechelen and STVV followed, with a late draw against Westerlo in between.

With a funny video on social media, AA Gent is now trying to ‘turn around’ the atmosphere among the supporters. In Going Pro, Thijs Vloebergh tries to catch up Eleven to build a career as a professional football player in one year. The commentator has already visited various clubs and has now also volunteered at… the Buffalos. You can see below whether this resulted in anything:
