A stellar comeback? The legendary Tyson wants to dust off his gloves, the Russian is also in the game

He ended his professional boxing career less than nineteen years ago to dust off his gloves in 2020 and enter an exhibition fight with the American Roy Jones Jr. (the event generated huge revenue). Boxing legend Mike Tyson is once again aiming to return to the ring. A significant attraction is said to be the decent earnings offered by Saudi Arabian officials for his fight at the end of the year.

Foreign servers Daily Telegraph and The Australian inform about a possible fight with the former fighter of the famous UFC Mark Hunt, who is going to switch to boxing without gloves (BKFC) after the end of the most prestigious fighting organization. “A huge match. This fight looks set to go eight rounds in Saudi Arabia later this year. It is very close to the official announcement, the final confirmation of the fight will take place during February,” informs From The Stands.

The 49-year-old New Zealander Hunt, who has sparred with elite MMA names Stipe Miocic, Alistair Overeem and Mirko Cro Cop, attracted attention with a recent video on social media where he stated that he aims to fight opponents aged 50 and over three times this year. He himself will reach this goal this June. He then shared a post pointing to a fight with one of the best boxers of all time – Mike Tyson.

Other fight servers also agree on this information, which also mention a potential match between Tyson and the legendary Russian MMA fighter Fedor Yemelyanenko, who ended his career last February with a crushing defeat against Ryan Bader. But it is possible that even this forty-seven-year-old Russian did not say the last word.

“I am one hundred percent done with MMA, I will not return to it. I want to try boxing. I think it can be a nice experience and it would be an interesting match with Mike Tyson, for example,” Yemelyanenko did not rule out first experiences in the world of boxing.

Fans understandably speculate whether Tyson, the youngest heavyweight boxing champion in history, still has at least partial performance from the days when he was at the height of his fame. “Furt looks very good, even though his best years are behind him, but the power is still there. I’m a fan of both legends, but Tyson should win,” muses one boxing enthusiast.
