The grand finale promised a lot. It was the confrontation between two different styles: the youth and intensity of BT against the know-how of Pozuelo. Chutzpah versus experience. Pozuelo started in the best possible way, with a 6-0 run thanks to two triples from Adriana Pedrayes before the BT’s defense (one of its best weapons) had time to get into position. The Torresan reaction was not long in coming at the hands of Mireya Sanz (2007), but Pozuelo stood firm and after three minutes led 11-4. The BT drew on experience, that of Ester Sintes and the sisters kiss, so as not to be left behind. The match had acquired the status of a final from the beginning, with short and brave attacks. Little by little, the young Torres team imposed its rhythm to the point of taking the lead with three times as many Susana Bacete (13-16), although the first set (16-16) showed the balance of the match.

That equality was maintained at the beginning of the second quarter, with successes by both teams. More in Pozuelo, which went up to +6 (24-18) with triple the Charlotte Ragnetti. The response was immediate from the hand of Marta Bacete and also from afar… It was a clash between two of the best teams in the VIPS League, two aspiring to everything, and it showed. When Noelia Olmedo signed on 27-21, the BT coach, Paula Dominguez, he stopped the clock. He had to put in one more gear against a very serious Pozuelo in defense. The comeback of the first quarter was repeated in the second. Susana Bacete He opened it from a middle distance and, shortly after, Mireya Sanz forced the foul to get another point from the free throw line. Point by point, step by step, BT got closer on the scoreboard until they were tied (29-29 at 1:20) and even reached the break ahead: 30-31.

BT’s streak picked up speed after the break, now with a 0-7 start. Rachel Martin He ended the period from free throws, but this time it was Pozuelo who had to row against the current. Halfway through the third quarter, the Torresans held on (39-45) in the middle of a frenetic match, with runs from one side to the other and risky actions, such as the triple of Sofia Gaos that narrowed the score… for a short time. The defenses were overwhelmed by wave attacks, especially from a BT that achieved a third quarter of 12-21 and reached the last period with +10 (42-52). A very important income, but not yet decisive. There was still time for excitement, especially when María Valdeande made it 50-55 with more than five minutes left. Pozuelo also knew how to come back and showed it. With 2:43 left, he was already within two (53-55), taking the game to a frenetic and emotionally charged outcome. The sisters kiss, Suzanne with a triple and Marta with two free throws, they gave BT air when they needed it most, Melisa Correa He finished the job from free throws and the Cup went to Torrelodones.

Alcobendas and Distrito were playing for bronze in a match with some news from the day before. In the hosts he returned Carmen Lealin those of San Blas he entered Rocio Mendoza. But the main novelty was the rhythm. With nothing at stake except the good taste of finishing third, the two teams loosened their ties and offered a fast and successful game from the beginning (4-5 after two minutes). Paula Nieves surprised the local defense to make it 6-9 and Alcobendas reacted through Jimena Lorenzo. The clash was fast, open… and even (11-11 at 4:02, 13-14 at 2:50…). The triple of Miriam Martínez and the cons of Blanca Ruiz de Assín caused the first stretch of the District (13-19) and also the timeout of Alberto Hontangas. His team reacted well and closed the first quarter only three down: 18-21.

Both teams wanted to win. It was a matter of pride. But the District remained ahead on the scoreboard… even more so with two triples from Mine is Díez which led to the maximum difference up to that moment: 20-31 at 6:28 before the break. Those from San Blas showed their best version, both in defense and attack, with a trademark collective game, without forgetting individual talent. Blanca Ruiz de Assín He sneaked into the kitchen to take care of the mistake. Vantage Towers Alcobendas cut back, but found themselves with two points of Andrea Sarria on the horn: 28-35 at halftime.

There was still a game left. A triple of Sofia Torres It showed that Alcobendas was still fighting, although they had a more expert rival in front of them who responded immediately. The beginning of the third quarter was a give and take, an exchange of blows that did not change anything (34-39 at 6:52), but it did encourage the Antela crowd. After a few minutes of pause, Mine is Díez He put more pressure with a triple (34-42). The District maintained the lead and entered the fourth quarter at 40-48. Again Mine is Díez He encouraged his team shortly after starting that last act. The Olympic District not only ruled the score (40-50) but also showed its solidity (especially the MVP Andrea Sarria) against an Alcobendas that moved in bursts, with determination but without excessive success. That’s why the final growth spurt didn’t take long to arrive and the bronze went to San Blas.
