FIS Cup in Szczyrk. Only five Poles advanced to the final series

72 competitors from 10 countries appeared on the beam. After the first series, as many as 15 Poles said goodbye to the competition. The promotion was won by, among others: Klemens Joniak, who jumped 92.5 m. This gave him 23rd place. Łukasz Łukaszczyk soared a little further (94.5 m), one of the most talented Polish jumpers. He was even hailed as Kamil Stoch’s successor. After the first series he took 18th place.

Tymoteusz Amilkiewicz was right behind him, even though he jumped one meter further. Marcin Wróbel also performed well – he landed on 96.5 m and took 16th place. Tomasiak was definitely the highest among Poles, once again. Although his attempt was 95.5 m, identical to that of Amilkiewicz, he jumped in more difficult conditions. Therefore, after the first series he was in 9th place.

This part of the competition was again dominated by the Austrians. Marco Woergoetter (102.5 m) led, followed by Hannes Landerer (101.5 m) and Markus Rupitsch (100 m). These three were the only ones to exceed 100 m.

The Poles’ flash in the second series. Tomasiak is the best again

In the second series, the Poles did much better. Joniak was the first to sit on the beam from the White and Reds. He made a four-meter better attempt (96.5 m), thanks to which he moved up significantly in the classification, by as much as 11 positions. Ultimately he took 12th place.

Amilkiewicz also definitely climbed further. He was only 50 cm short of crossing the magic mark of 100 m. Despite everything, he still moved to the top of the rankings. He finished the competition in 14th place. The mentioned boundary was broken by Łukaszczyk. He jumped 100.5 m, but due to a slightly more favorable wind, he found himself behind Amilkiewicz. He took 17th place.

Kacper Tomasiak also did very well in the second series. He also improved from the first attempt. This time he landed on 98 m, which allowed him to take 6th place. Only Marcin Wróbel had a worse jump – 92.5 m and 19th place at the end.

Just like on Saturday, Landerer triumphed on Sunday. In the final series he jumped 102.5 m. Rupitsch took second place (99.5 m), while the leader completed the podium after the first series (99.5 m).
