Angelo Besio, Giovanni Selis and Mario Zanobini. Three characters who, in their respective sports, were pioneers and symbols in the Savona area. Albissola Marina remembers them on Friday afternoon 23 February at the MuDA in via dell’Oratorio (starting at 4.30 pm) in a public meeting in which they will be told about by family members, students, collaborators and friends. The initiative, which is entitled ‘A life for sport’, is one of the events proposed by the ‘Culture and solidarity’ association, which leads the Albissolese Unitre, and by the working group that created the book ‘Ciao bae ‘, published in recent months.
In the post-war period, Besio, with a group of friends, created a volleyball center which is still a point of reference today, Doctor Selis was the father of water polo, while the notary Zanobini was one of the protagonists of baseball in Liguria . Carlo Colla will be present, who recently published the book ‘Dear friends of life and sport’. A similar initiative will be proposed in the coming months to ‘celebrate’ other local sports figures.
