The calendars of Ciemme Oltretorrente and Old Parma participating in the Serie A baseball and Serie A1 softball championships have been released.
For Ciemme inserted in group E it starts on April 21st in Sassari against Catalana, a group of 6 teams. In the group, in addition to the yellow-blues of Ciemme Oltretorrente and Catalana, Senago, Reggio Rays, Codogno and Grizzlies Torino are present. Round trip round with two 9-inning games per week. Game-1 reserved for pitcher Afi, game-2 free. The group will end on June 29-30. At the end of the group, the top-ranked teams from the four groups B, C, D, E will advance to the preliminary round 1, while the other teams will participate in the relegation round. The play-off semi-final is played between the winners of the quarter-finals in the best of 7 games of 7 innings each and ends when one of the two teams reaches 4 victories since August 7th. The Italian baseball series will be played from August 24th between the winners of the semi-finals in the best of 7 games of 7 innings, ending when one of the teams reaches 4 victories, awarding the title of Champion of Italy 2024. The relegation round is structured on 1 group of 8 teams and two groups of 7 teams and composed of the teams classified from second to sixth position in groups B, C, D, E and the two losing teams. The preliminary round 2 playoff is played on a one-way basis and takes place over two weekly matches of 9. innings from July 20th to September 8th. At the end of the relegation pool, the last placed team in each group will play the playouts. The playouts will therefore be played by the last-placed team in each of the 3 relegation pool groups. Playouts from 14-15 September structured on a group of 3 teams, one way, 2 weekly games of 9 innings. Finally, the second and third-placed teams are relegated to the 2025 Serie B.
For softball, the start for Old Parma will be on March 30th during the Easter weekend and will continue until June 15th before the break due to national team commitments. The regular season will resume for Old Parma on August 4th in Pianoro after the “Due Torri” international youth baseball and softball tournament scheduled in the city from July 24th to 28th. The regular season, structured according to a single round of 9 teams on a home and away basis, will end on 18 August with the away match to Castelfranco Veneto for Old Parma. The calendar, sent to the clubs every few days and subject to changes in the match times based on the requests of the clubs themselves, was issued by the Fibs Match Organization Commission. Nine teams will take part in the tournament, in addition to the yellow-blues of Old Parma, Bertazzoni Collecchio, the reigning Italian champions Italposa Forlì, Inox Team Saronno, Macerata, Rheavendors Caronno, Mkf Bollate, Thunders Castelfranco Veneto and Mia Office Blue Girls Pianoro. Old Parma will debut in Forlì. The date to be marked with the red circle is April 25th, the derby between Old Parma and Bertazzoni Collecchio is scheduled for the fifth first leg at field 3 of the “Notari” center of the “Quadrifoglio” complex, with the return to Collecchio on June 15th. At the end of the regular season, the teams classified in the first 4 places will face the play-offs, with the semi-finals scheduled from 14 September with the best of 5 matches and the final again with the best of 5 matches from 28 September, while the ninth-placed team will play the best-of-3 playouts from 7 September against the loser of the play-off final of the A2 softball series. The top 4 teams in the first round of the regular season will take part in the final four of the Italian Cup, scheduled for June 22nd, taking into account only the match with the Afi pitcher.
