16-Year-Old Lily Yohannes Leads Ajax to Victory Against Feyenoord

Ajax won easily against Feyenoord on Saturday. 16-year-old Lily Yohannes took the leading role, as reporter Steven Kooijman also saw.

“She is only sixteen years young, Yohannes, still four months to be precise. But she plays football as if she has already played 300 matches at the highest level, it all seems so easy when the teenager touches the ball.” writes Kooijman The Telegraph. After just fifteen minutes of play, Yohannes opened the score in the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

“With a beautiful arc and a delicate assist, she was also of decisive importance for her team, which was two sizes too big for Feyenoord,” Kooijman said. “The thousands in the Johan Cruijff ArenA appreciate her, as evidenced by the thunderous applause that rolled from the stands after her substitution. Of course she was chosen as ‘Woman of the Match’, Yohannes, the midfielder with her characteristic white hair band,” said the reporter.
