Zamora Archers Achieve Impressive Results at Territorial Championship

Zamora archers dominate in the Territorial Championship

Great weekend for CD members. Zamora archers who attended the Castilla y León Indoor Archery Championship held in Valladolid throughout Saturday and Sunday, achieving three golds, four silvers, two bronzes and two fourth places.

Benjamín Rodríguez, with a traditional bow, competed as a senior and veteran. He had a good senior qualifying series, he was first, however in the qualifiers there was no luck and there was no medal but he did get the runner-up position as a veteran. In the lower categories, special mention goes to the youngest Hugo Baladrón, who not only won the gold but also improved Castilla y León’s record by 19 points, leaving it at 570 out of a possible 600.

In the same category, Daniel Rodríguez accompanied him on the podium with a well-deserved silver when he has only been practicing the discipline for three months.

Jara’s senior gold

In the juvenile category, David Rodríguez also went up to the podium to collect the silver that almost didn’t go gold. The Federation decided that the youngest and junior categories would be mixed. Both the youngest Valeria Moralejo and the junior Alba Priet shot very well and would have obtained a medal if their categories were not mixed.

Children

The children’s Alejandro Moralejo and Álvaro Ponte did very well in the battle against their rivals; The bad luck was that in the quarterfinals they had to be eliminated. Moralejo prevailed and entered the fight for the medals, but lost the option to fight for the gold, although he did win the bronze with authority. The cadet category, represented by Jara Bartolomé and Rodrigo Cristóbal, resulted in silver for the shooter who continues to accumulate podiums.

Olivia, junior, may have started as the favorite because of the current good moment, but she was a little nervous, perhaps because she was aware that she could be at the top of the box. She had a good roll and good qualifying rounds that, indeed, lifted her to the top, proclaiming herself champion of Castilla y León.

Senior and veterans

Sunday was the turn of the seniors and veterans. Jara and Rodrigo also appeared in this category. Mati Peña, a compound bow shooter who was returning from a long injury, had a very good qualification that gave her the direct bronze in veterans and after good eliminations the diploma in senior.

Rodrigo did not manage to enter the playoffs despite having a very good first qualifying round.

Beatriz Manso did not have her best day, nervous and self-demanding of herself, in the semifinals she was nowhere near going to the final against Jara who had already gotten rid of her opponents and was waiting for a rival in the final. But the dreamed final between clubmates could not happen. Beatriz would settle for a diploma the fourth time and Jara, who competed much better as a senior than as a cadet, deservedly won the Castilla y León championship, becoming a double medalist.

Satisfaction in the club for the results obtained that have led it to be one of the first clubs in the medal table and perhaps the most leading in the Federation of Castilla y León.
