Who Will Join the 50-40-90 Club in the 2024 NBA Season?

50% shooting, 40% from distance and 90% from the free throw line over an entire season. This is what the 50-40-90 club is and only nine players have achieved this feat. Will we have any new additions to add to the list in 2024?

Larry Bird, Mark Price, Reggie Miller, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving et Malcolm Brogdon.

When we see the list of members of the 50-40-90 club, we quickly understand that the invitation does not come in a package from Chocapic. We’re talking about elite skill, flawless consistency over the course of an entire season, rain or shine. Knowing of course that there are quotas to be reached in order to be eligible for selection. The player must achieve these percentages with minimum 300 baskets scored including 82 3-pointers and 125 shots scored.

We have laid the foundations and the question now is who meets the criteria at this moment in time during this 2023-24 season?

New member of the 50-40-90 club?

Grayson Allen: 50.6% shooting, 45.6% from 3-point range and 90.7% from the line

Only one player currently meets the 50-40-90 criteria in the NBA and that is Grayson Allen. The former little demon from Duke is enjoying himself in Phoenix alongside Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and recently Bradley Beal. With such scorers at his side, the back takes advantage of large spaces to shoot as he pleases and his reputation as a sniper is well established.

It’s up to him to maintain this rhythm and this precision, knowing that he is perfectly on time also when it comes to the quotas to be achieved. (125 baskets scored, 67 3-point shots and 49 shots in 28 games).

They are not very far from it

Kevin Durant: 52.5% shooting, 47.7% from 3-point range and 87.4% from the line Mike Conley: 46.1% shooting, 45.5% from 3-point range and 93.9% from the Norman Powell line: 50.5% shooting, 44.9% from 3-points and 88.2% on the line Kawhi Leonard: 52.2% shooting, 42.8% from 3-points and 87.2 % on the line Derrick White: 49.1% shooting, 41.6% on 3-pointers and 89.2% on the line Karl-Anthony Towns: 50.9% shooting, 41.3% on 3-pointers and 89.5% on the line Stephen Curry: 45.3% shooting, 40.9% on 3-pointers and 93.1% on the line Tyrese Haliburton: 50% shooting, 40.6% on 3-pointers and 85.6% on the line Naz Reid: 50.2% shooting, 39.7% on 3-pointers and 91.3% on the line

A few throws here, a few 3-pointers there or even a little overall lack of skill. Everyone can reach the 50-40-90 club at the end of the season. Curry and Durant are already part of it but for the rest it would be a great first. Karl-Anthony Towns seems well on his way to joining them like the always so clean Derrick White or even Kawhi Leonard who is back at his best this season.
