Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan Keep Players List Confidential in Trial Match Ahead of 2023 Asian Cup

Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan both did not announce the list of players in this match.

Vietnam posed a serious threat to the Indonesian national team after suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat to Kyrgyzstan in a trial match at the Al Egla training center, Doha, Qatar, Tuesday (9/1) evening WIB.

Like other test matches played by contestants for the 2023 Asian Cup, the match between Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan took place behind closed doors, considering that the kick-off for this prestigious tournament on the Yellow Continent is only a few days away.

In fact, both Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan did so completely closed. They did not announce the list of players in this match to the public in order to maintain team confidentiality.

The official website of the Kyrgyzstan Football Federation (KFU) reported that Stefan Tarkovic’s team was able to dominate, and did not give Vietnam much room to develop their game.

Even though they dominated the game, it was not easy for Kyrgyzstan to score quickly. They were only able to break through Vietnam’s goal after half an hour of the match through Ghanaian-born player Joel Kojo. This score lasted until the first half ended.

Vietnam’s performance improved in the second half, and were able to respond to Kyrgyzstan’s game. Philippe Troussier’s men were able to equalize through Truong Tien Anh’s goal in the 63rd minute.

However, Vietnam’s efforts to reverse the situation did not produce results. Kyrgyzstan broke through The Golden Star’s goal again in the 75th minute through Ayzar Akmatov’s goal and sealed the win.

This will be the last test match for both teams. Troussier will announce the list of 26 names to appear in the 2023 Asian Cup after this match, because Vietnam is bringing 30 players to undergo training camp (TC).
