Victor Wembanyama Shines with Triple Double and Dominating Performance in Win Over San Antonio Spurs

Victor Wembanyama It shone again with its own light and repeated ‘express exhibition’. A few hours after signing a triple double in 20 minutes, the Frenchman has gone up to 26 points and 11 rebounds in just 19 minutes and 41 seconds in the total and absolute beating of the San Antonio Spurs to the Charlotte Hornets by 135-99.

The Frenchman shot 9/14 from the field (23 in triples), an impeccable 6/6 from the line and several dunks that are already a trademark of the house.

Leaving fantastic performances to remember in record time is literal in the case of the Frenchman. According to ESPN, today’s ‘Wemby’ was the third fastest double-double of at least 25 points and 10 rebounds, only behind Kevin Love’s (32 points and 15 rebounds in 14 minutes and 41 seconds in 2022 ) and John Drew (29 points and 13 rebounds in just 19 minutes in 1981).

The Spurs, who despite everything remain the worst team in the Western Conference with a record of 7-30, had not won two games in a row since the victories they achieved in Phoenix against the Suns on October 31 and November 2. It’s not that things are going much better for the Hornets, who with an overall balance of 8-28, have already lost 15 in the last 16 games.

But at least it’s not all bad news, since LaMelo Ball returned to the court after almost two months out, scoring 28 points, 5 assists and 5 steals.

Today’s game was also a duel between two of the best rookies of this season. Victor Wembanyama (number one) and Brandon Miller (number two) faced off… but there wasn’t much fighting, as the Hornets player had to leave the game early after a nasty fall.
