This Sunday, January 28, 2024, the death of former Colombian defender and coach, Víctor Luna, was announced at the age of 64.

Apparently the death of the former Colombia National Team player occurred in the city of Medellín and was the result of a heart attack.

Luna was born in Medellín on October 28, 1959 and became a professional soccer player in 1978, debuting for Atlético Nacional, a team for which he played until 1984, also winning a League title in 1981.

After his time in the Purslane team, Víctor Luna moved to América de Cali and he was there during 1985 and 1989, also becoming Colombian soccer champion in 1986.

After 12 years of career as a soccer player, Víctor Luna decided to be a technical director and managed to manage several teams in Colombia, but also abroad.

As a coach he directed Independiente Medellín, maintaining a period from 1997 to 2003 and in the 2002 season he ended up winning the League champion.

He then coached Barcelona and Macará of Ecuador at the international level, but upon his return to Colombia, he took the reins of Once Caldas and Atlético Bucaramanga.

However, his last appearance as technical director was at Independiente Medellín in 2011 and from then on he did not appear on the bench again.
