Uzbekistan U-20 players had difficulty adapting to the weather in Jakarta ahead of the match Indonesian U-20 National Team on Tuesday (30/1).

Garuda Nusantara, as Indonesia U-20 is known, will have a trial match with Uzbekistan at Madya Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta. This is the second trial match for the two teams after each team tried out for the Thailand U-20 national team.

According to Nishonov Farkhod, coach of Uzbekistan U-20, his team had some difficulty adapting to the weather. The reason is that at the time of concentration in the country the situation was cold.

As soon as we arrived in Jakarta, the weather changed 180 degrees. Even though it occasionally rains, the weather in Jakarta is generally quite hot. This makes the player’s condition not optimal.

“Adaptation is a little difficult because the situation in Uzbekistan is currently cold, and in the first match, we saw that our players had difficulty playing in hot weather,” said Farkhod when met Monday (29/1).

However, this 32 year old coach ensured that his team was ready to fight against Indonesia. Moreover, most of the Uzbekistan U-20 players graduated from the 2023 U-17 World Cup.

They have performed in Indonesia. The experience of playing in Indonesia at the end of last year made them not too surprised. The desire to beat the host remains great.

“This team is different [dengan tim juara Piala Asia U-20 2023], but we also want to win the U-20 Asian Cup next year. And this year we will take part in the qualifications,” said Farkhod.

“And most of these players come from the Uzbekistan U-17 squad [saat tampik di Piala Dunia U-17] last year in Indonesia. “And most of these players were born in 2006,” he said.
