UD Barbastro Secures Fourth Consecutive Victory in League

The game did not start well for Dani Martínez’s team. CD Brea came out well in the first minutes with very high pressure, the red and white team had a difficult time getting the ball out and the game was not flowing. In the 3rd minute, Eder tried his luck from afar, but goalkeeper Iván Biarge was attentive.

As the minutes passed, the Zaragozaans exerted less pressure and Barbastro was able to begin making passes. In the 16th, Jaime Ara finished a good play but the shot went high. Two minutes later after a corner combed by De Mesa, Mingotes had the best chance of the first half, but the goal-mouth shot went high.

Brea did not give up on the attack, and in the 21st minute, a defensive mismatch created problems for Biarge’s goal. Bernárdez also shot hard from distance in the final stages of the first half, our goalkeeper once again was decisive in clearing it with his fists.

Half-time came, Martínez brought on Arroyo for Ara who was booked, and in the 58th minute Sule and Requés came on for Kike Rausell and Pablo Gallego. The changes took effect almost immediately and in the 65th minute, when the goalkeeper hit a ball, Requés headed the ball. He left it on a plate to Sule, the man from Binéfar won the game against the Brean defense and established the 1-0 with quality.

In the 68th minute the Zaragoza reply with a crossbar from Cirac after finishing off a free kick centered in the area. However, in the 69th minute, after a fight by De Mesa, Sule returned the assist to Requés, so that the Segovian hit with mastery to establish the 2-0.

It seemed like there was no longer going to be played, but in the 81st minute, an innocent penalty committed by Sule on Beneded was going to add excitement to the final minutes, Vela converted the maximum penalty. Fortunately the scoreboard did not move any further, and Barbastro closed a historic week in outstanding fashion.
