Hypo Tirol lived up to its role as favorite in the Austrian Volley League Men (AVL Men) on Saturday. The defending champions celebrated a 3-1 home win against Raiffeisen Waldviertel on Saturday evening. For the league leaders it was the 14th success in the 14th game. Tirol is still five points ahead of TSV Hartberg, which played one game less.
UVC Ried/Innkreis also achieved a 3-1 home win against Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt. The Upper Austrians defended sixth place in the table and are still three points ahead of TJ Sokol V/Post SV Vienna.
In the AVL Women, champion Steelvolleys ASKÖ Linz/Steg showed a gala performance and won 3-0 at NÖ Sokol/Post in just 68 minutes. League leaders TI-Schuh-Staudinger Innsbruck suffered a clear 0-3 defeat at Kelag Wildcats Klagenfurt.
