Official confirmation from the Black and Yellows followed on Friday morning. As expected, left-back Maatsen will be on loan from Chelsea for the rest of the season. The 21-year-old had already passed the medical check in Dortmund on Wednesday and the deal only depended on the Blues’ final signature.

“Ian’s strengths fit our requirements profile. He is a player who has a lot of speed, has a strong left foot and can also be used in various positions. We are very pleased that we were able to realize this loan before our first Bundesliga game of the year,” BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl is quoted as saying.

Werder wants defenders from Argentina

Werder Bremen is apparently close to signing Argentine defender Julián Malatini. Argentine media reported this unanimously on Friday. The 22-year-old plays for the first division club Defensa y Justicia and, according to the Argentine association, has already left the quarters of the country’s Olympic team to complete a transfer.

Bremen need reinforcements in defense after the injuries to the two central defenders Amos Pieper and Milos Veljkovic. According to managing director Frank Baumann, another midfielder is also due to arrive in January.

Neymar club interested in Raphael Guerreiro

Saudi Arabia is flooding the football world with money; in the summer, clubs from the Saudi Pro League paid almost a billion euros in transfer fees. This winter, however, things are still quiet and there have been no big blockbuster transfers. That could change because Al-Hilal is reportedly interested in an FC Bayern player.

As the French “L’Equipe” reports, Raphael Guerreiro is a transfer candidate for the Saudi league leaders. Al-Hilal is currently without its star player Neymar, who tore his cruciate ligament in October. However, it is very unlikely that Guerreiro will be loaned to the desert state for six months. The Portuguese only came from Dortmund in the summer, FC Bayern is currently thinly staffed in the central midfield, and Guerreiro is also considered coach Thomas Tuchel’s absolute favorite.

FC Bayern signs Eric Dier

Eric Dier’s move to FC Bayern Munich is perfect. The German record champions announced this on Thursday evening. This means Thomas Tuchel gets the first desired winter entry. Harry Kane’s long-time Tottenham colleague is supposed to ease the defensive bottleneck. The 29-year-old has a contract with FC Bayern until June 30 of this year with the option of an extension for another year.
