Tragic Death of Golden State Warriors’ Assistant Coach: Dejan Milojevic Dies at 46

An illness when he was at dinner in Salt Lake City (where Golden State was supposed to play on the night), admission to the local hospital and then, unfortunately, the tragic end: Dejan Milojevic, assistant coach of the Golden State Warriors, has died at just 46 years old for the consequences of a heart attack. The gravity of what had happened to the member of Steve Kerr’s coaching staff was immediately evident: the official press release from the team and then that of the NBA, with the choice to postpone (until a later date) the match between Utah and Golden State he had already hinted at the seriousness of the matter. All the Warriors staff, and members of the team, had been in the hospital for a long time, effectively moving from the restaurant to the coach’s bedside, and staying late at night by his side. Today, unfortunately, the sad news. On the Warriors staff since 2021Milojevic was best known for his fundamental role in contributing to Serbia’s technical development by Nikola Jokic, with whom he was on excellent terms. In his past he also spent 15 years as a player, in Serbia, Spain, Montenegro and Turkey, where he made himself known with the curious nickname of “the Serbian Charles Barkley”.
