It’s an ultra running race that you can’t sign up for: invitations arrive on Whatsapp
A super marathon of almost 500 kilometers that takes place in the Atacama desert, in Chile: the start in the coastal city of Iquique, in northern Chile; the finish line in San Pedro de Atacama.
A dangerous race (which took place in November 2023) in an environment with temperatures ranging from 30-40 degrees during the day to zero at night, a race that has no rules, no prizes, no website, nor a delimited route . It doesn’t even have any permit to take place (so much so that the first edition will most likely also be the last due to police threats to arrest the runners).
