The Speed Bump Scandal in Frascati: Poorly Executed and Causing Damage to Vehicles

FRASCATI (current events) – They should be passable at 30 km/h, but some cannot be exceeded at more than 7-8 km/h

They had made a mess: bumps too high and not properly signalled, non-existent or poorly positioned signs, bollards too close together. Which was to be asked (and the opposition officially asked it with a question): but who made them? Who was supposed to supervise the execution of the works?

READ Not marked, not zebra-striped and probably too high: here are the bumps on the outskirts of Frascati. Great business for mechanics

In recent days then, while friends of friends of friends were given the mandate to pass on different messages on social media (a “sign” that was published like a mantra on Facebook explaining that everything was in order was very amusing), they tried to take cover. Do not speed bumps positioned since mid-December in the outskirts of Frascati they were mostly a scandal.

READ Frascati, speed bumps on the outskirts: they put them in, now they’re taking them over. Yet another fool of the municipal administration

The bumps were the masterpiece of the municipal administration of Frascatithe flagship of the attention that the Sbardella team, those of the centre-left (with blows for citizens and motorists), have paid to the city outskirts.

In the meantime, while the wrong speed bumps are being redone (but there is still a lot to do), while councilor Cerroni continues to measure the “peak” of the speed bump to see that it is high no more than 7 centimeters (yes, of course), the oil sumps of cars in transit blow. The photo above says it all.

The photo below instead shows how the speed bump warning sign has been movedfrom 30 meters ahead to 30 meters before the bollard, as required by law.

Below, however, the same sign where it was before ilmamilio.it wrote about it and the residents became furious, forcing the Fines Administration to take action.

The good thing is that these bumps are regulated, from Regulation implementing the Highway Codeper allow transit at 30 km/hthe speed then imposed by the signs with which the suburbs were dotted.

Try doing these bumps at 30 km/h! At most, they can be tackled – like the one immortalized in via Fontanile San Matteo – at 7-8 km/h. Otherwise damage to the car is guaranteed.

And indeed: the very signs already present on the top of the bollards (see photo below) say that the bollards are irregular, wrong, outside the norm. And they continue to go unreported.

So, who compensates motorists who suffer damage to their vehicles?

Why didn’t they buy the plastic ones? Maybe because they are more expensive but already up to standard? And aren’t traffic light fines on Tuscolana enough to buy decent speed bumps? Questions that will, as usual, have no response from this municipal administration.
