the Norwegian Johannes Dale-Skjevdal wins the Ruhpolding pursuit, Jacquelin again at the foot of the podium

In this Ruhpolding pursuit event, the Norwegian Johannes Dale-Skjevdal won to offer his country the treble. Emilien Jacquelin once again finished in 4th place.

Norwegian biathlete Johannes Dale-Skjevdal won the Ruhpolding pursuit in Germany on Sunday and, with his compatriots Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen and Johannes Boe, offers Norway a new hat-trick. The Frenchman Emilien Jacquelin, already 4th in the sprint on Saturday, once again finished just off the podium.

Fifth in the pursuit on Saturday, Johannes Dale-Skjevdal, 18/20 shooting, was the fastest of the leading group on skis in the last lap. With his third place, Johannes Boe retains the lead in the general classification while his brother Tarjei – 54 points behind Johannes before the chase – threatened to catch up with him after 12 of the 21 individual races of the season.

Starting in the lead with 17 seconds in advance, Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen was able to believe for a long time in a double, even after his first mistake on the third shot. But he cracked in the last shot standing and had to go two more laps in the penalty ring.

Already fourth yesterday during the sprint, Emilien Jacquelin once again finished just off the podium. After three faults on prone shots, he managed to rejoin the leading group after a flawless performance on standing shots but was unable to do anything against the Norwegians in the last few hundred meters.

Starting in 16th position, Frenchman Éric Perrot took 9th place, 35 seconds behind the winner.
