The interest of the Los Angeles Lakers in Dejounte Murray is real, to the point that The Athletic revealed what the change that both parties are negotiating would be like and which would impact the NBA immediately.
According to journalist Jovan Buha, the Californians are willing to give the Atlanta Hawks in negotiations for Murray D’Angelo Russell, Jalen Hood-Schifino, a 2029 first-round draft pick and an additional compensation pick.
“Talks have stalled, but are expected to resume as the deadline approaches”says the report from The Athletic, which does not rule out that both parties reach an agreement when the clock is about to expire.

The point guard has had a good season with the Hawks, averaging 21 points per game, 4.8 rebounds, 5 assists, 45.9% in field goals, 38.5% in triples and 82.6% in free throws, solid statistics in the context of a campaign in which his team is in the middle of fighting to advance to the playoffs in the Eastern Conference with a record of 18-23.
For the gold and purple to get the point guard they would have to pay the rest of their contract year for 18.2 million dollars, this if they do not reach an agreement with Atlanta regarding the payment of their pending salary.
Of all the options on the market for the Lakers, Murray is the most realistic.
