Xiamen Evening News (Reporter Dai Shujing) Xiang’an Central Park, the largest comprehensive park in Xiang’an District, is under construction and is expected to be completed and opened this year.
The park is located on the northeast side of the intersection of Xiang’an South Road and Xiang’an Avenue. It is located in the Xiyanshan-Xiangshan Green Corridor, one of the top ten ecological corridors in Xiamen. It is an important link to the future municipal eastern center and carries important urban ecological functions.
The reporter recently walked into the park and saw that greening construction has been completed in most areas of the park. There is a slender water system in the park with an ecological island, and bald cypress trees are planted around the water body. According to reports, the park started construction last year, with a total land area of about 34 hectares. It is currently the largest comprehensive park in Xiang’an District. The park is fully functional, not only equipped with viewing corridors, landscape pavilions, landscape bridges, ecological islands, sunshine lawns, but also seven-a-side football fields, basketball courts, water-friendly platforms, etc., of which the green area exceeds 260,000 square meters.
The park takes “flowers” as its theme, with flowers blooming all year round and the breeze carrying fragrance. In the spring, there are Guangzhou cherry blossoms, pink beetles, red-flowered campanula, and yellow-flowered campanula. In summer, there are jacaranda, poinciana, and flame wood. There is a viewing platform designed at the highest point of the park, from which you can see the large lawn and sea of flowers. The large lawn is planted with optimized large-leaf oil grass and Manila grass. After the park is opened, citizens can come here to camp. Many tall trees are planted near the lawn to block the sun.
The park not only provides convenience for citizens to relax, but also increases the income of nearby villagers. “We use plant barriers to cover part of the village’s facade. The businesses in the village can meet the consumption needs of tourists and allow villagers to share the dividends of park construction.” The relevant person in charge said that Qianbian Village of Hongqian Community in Xindian Street is located in the park, and villagers can Open the door and see green.
