The Greatest NBA Player of All Time: A Subjective Debate

In basketball, there will always be debates about who the greatest players of all time are, from fans to former players, everyone will have their subjective opinion influenced by both statistics and an emotional bond that many fans can form with their favorite.

76ers legend Allen Iverson also spoke out on the matter: along with Michael Jordan he is not the best player to have graced the NBA floor LeBron Jamesbut rather Kobe Bryant. As previously mentioned, all of this is a subjective opinion that may also be shared among fans, but Stephen A. Smith does not seem to agree and through a post on X responded to AI’s claims about Bryant.

Kobe Bryant is not the second greatest player in NBA history. It’s not true, it’s simply not! Points per game weren’t the same as LeBron, assists weren’t the same as LeBron, rebounds weren’t the same as LeBron, longevity wasn’t the same as LeBron. He has more rings, but we can’t ignore the fact that the first three came with Shaq in his prime one of the two most dominant figures in basketball history

Smith obviously recognized what the “Black Mamba” represents and will forever represent in basketball, but in his opinion also Kareem Abdul-Jabbar he is ranked higher than the former Lakers.

LeBron didn’t have Shaq as a teammate. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, okay… Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and Ray Allen, okay… You can’t place him second above LeBron. You can’t place him second above Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Until now, “The Answer” has not yet responded to the recent published rant. However, it will be interesting to see if Allen Iverson actually decides to dedicate time to Smith.
