The Compagnie des Archers du Loudunois Holds General Meeting and Reviews Accomplishments

The Loudun archery club, the Compagnie des archers du Loudunois, held its general meeting on January 20 in Angliers.

The president, Élisabeth Coric, took stock of a year with sources of satisfaction. They now have a new outdoor field, located behind the Petit-Colas gymnasium. “It was a real pleasure to introduce our young people to the outdoors and to be able to enjoy training together”she says.

The organization of the semi-night competition at La Roche-Rigault suffered from bad weather with a correspondingly low number of competitors. The outdoor season was marked by 15 individual selections at the French championships, 2 medals, gold for Nathalie Villemur and bronze for Sandra Pottier, and 3 team selections. “Great pride for a club of sixty licensees”underlines the president.

Reorganization

The organization of training has been improved. Groups have been created so that all archers can take full advantage of a coach with monitoring. On the administrative side (licenses, competition registrations, etc.), the tasks have been shared, which does not prevent the club from having a severe shortage of volunteers. “The club cannot function without everyone’s investment. »

A negative point remains the cold in the gymnasium for athletes who are asked to equip themselves with thermal hats or t-shirts.

The club will try to invest in progression arcs for young people who are motivated but who do not have the appropriate equipment.

The financial balance sheet is in deficit. The objective is therefore to find new resources or subsidies.

Next sporting event Saturday February 17 for the Erik Poisson challenge.
