New year, new-look podcast network.
The Athletic boasts the biggest and most diverse collection of football shows on the planet and we’re pleased to announce some new developments that should enhance your listening — and watching — experiences in 2024.
Our two flagship podcasts, The Athletic Football Podcast and The Totally Football Show, will now go out in full on their respective YouTube channels so you can see your favourite pundits in the flesh as well as listen to their dulcet tones.
The former sees hosts Ayo Akinwolere and Adam Leventhal sink their teeth into the biggest story every weekday, while the latter is chaired by the incomparable James Richardson every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
For those with more of a continental leaning, make sure to join James, Raphael Honigstein, James Horncastle, Julien Laurens and Alvaro Romeo every Tuesday for the European Edition of The Totally Football Show as they provide their unrivalled wisdom on the Bundesliga, Serie A and so on.
Elsewhere, The Daily Football Briefing — our bitesize, 15-minute show bringing you up to speed every weekday morning — will become The Daily Transfer Briefing during January to stay on top of every twist and turn the window throws at us. Expect plenty from David Ornstein, who won’t sleep now until February.
Full Time Europe, our recently revamped women’s football podcast will continue to get stuck into the biggest WSL and Champions League stories every Tuesday, while The Athletic Football Tactics Podcast with Michael Cox, Mark Carey and Liam Tharme will endeavour to carry on dissecting the beautiful game like nobody else does.
Our six dedicated club shows will continue to be out twice a week. You can even vote for two of them — The View from the Lane and Talk of the Devils — in the Best Team Podcast category at the Sports Podcast Awards.
So if you’re after a new podcasting obsession or just looking to get back into your listening routines after the dizziness of the festive period, we think we’ve got something for everyone.
