The meeting, which lasted more than four hours, was attended by 97 coaches and managers from 73 teams. I listened to the members of the Rules and Referees Committee and Athletes Committee who took the stage.
The theme chosen by Athlete Committee Chairman Hiroyuki Sakaguchi was “Improving the value of baseball for working adults.” Speaking about the introduction of pitch clocks in adult baseball ahead of other categories, he stated, “Our position is to serve as a role model for the baseball world. Together with everyone, we want to make JABA and adult baseball evolve.” I expressed my thoughts.
The Athlete Committee explained practical examples, including the activities of the Japanese national team, from the perspective of utilizing data and sports psychology. The Rules and Referees Committee reported that the “Special Speed-up Regulations” for adult baseball will continue in 2024.
