The 16th Italian 3D Championship: Winners of Individual Over 20 and Under 20 Titles

The 16th Italian 3D Championship held on the courses set up in Prato Manente, in the municipality of Polino (Tr), by the Arcieri Città di Terni company concluded with the awarding of the individual Italian Over 20 and Under 20 titles. In addition to the challenges for the Italians, the competition was a real test event in view of the double continental event, European Field and European 3D, which will be held from 17 September to 1 October in San Sicario Alto (To). Many of today’s finalists will in fact be part of the blue group that will be protagonists in Piedmont.

INDIVIDUAL TITLES OVER 20
In the men’s Compound, after last year’s silver, Marco Bruno (Fiamme Azzurre) wins his first 3D tricolor: the blue man beat Paolo Pockaj (Arc. Zarja) 42-37 in the final, while Antonio Pompeo (Arcieri Castiglione Olona) wins the bronze by beating Ilario Munari (Le Frecce di S. Margherita) 43-40. In the women’s category, the challenge for the title saw Irene Franchini (Fiamme Azzurre) as the winner for the fourth time in her career thanks to 41-34 over Anna Rocca (Arcieri Tigullio). Third place for Anna Puricelli (Arcieri Tre Torri) narrow winner over the defending champion Elisa Baldo (Decumanus Maximus) 40-39.

In the Arco Istintivo great feat for Fabio Pittaluga (AGA) who reaches the record of 8 Italian 3D titles by beating the reigning champion Nicola Kos (Arcieri Città di Terni) 36-33 in the final. Bronze for Roberto Novelli (AGA) who beats Fedele Soria (Arcieri Città di Pescia) 34-29. However, Sabrina Vannini (Arcieri Città di Terni) managed to confirm herself as Italian champion, with her fourth consecutive title, fifth in total considering the first gold won in 2016, after the comeback victory over Michela Donati (Sagitta Arcieri Pesaro) 35-34 . Third place went to Serena Saltalamacchia (Stella Alpina Archers) thanks to 38-29 over Franca Grifoni (Hunter Archery Team).

In the Arco Nudo Emanuele Garofoli (Arcieri Rocca Flea) gets his first tricolor by beating Simone Barbieri (Malin Archery Team) 40-36 in the final, while the match for third place rewards Giuseppe Seimandi (Fiamme Azzurre), winning a comeback over Bruno Bassetta (Arcieri Falisci) 36-34. Among the women, fourth consecutive title, fifth overall, for the Italian Cinzia Noziglia (Fiamme Oro) who beat her national teammate Luciana Pennacchi (Arcieri Città di Pescia) 39-30; Eleonora Meloni (Arcieri Uras) won the bronze with 31-29 over Cristina Pernazza (Arcieri Augusta Perusia).

In the Longbow, Carlo Macconi (Kappa Kosmos Rovereto) won his first tricolor by beating Enzo Lazzaroni (Arcieri delle Alpi) 28-25, while the challenge for third place was resolved in a play-off with the victory of Giuseppe Cambiotti (Arcieri del Medio Chienti) over Gianfranco Piovano (Arcieri delle Alpi) 23-23 (8-5). In the women’s competition, Maria Cristina Giorgetti (Sagitta Arcieri Pesaro) earned her second Italian title after that of 2019, beating Maria Laura Bistolfi (Arcieri del Finale) 29-26 in the final. The bronze was won by the defending champion Paola Sacchetti (Arcieri Città di Pescia) thanks to 33-26 over Iuana Bassi (Arcieri Tigullio).

INDIVIDUAL UNDER 20 TITLES
In the men’s Compound, Mattia Corgiat Loia (Arcieri Iuvenilia) celebrated with gold, beating Mattia Celi (Compagnia degli Etruschi) 38-36 in the final; bronze to Marco Ronchi (Rezia Valtellina) who beat Francesco Fretti (Arcieri della Stella) 39-31. In the women’s Martina Del Duca (Arcieri Uras) climbs to the top step of the podium thanks to 41-25 over Francesca Garofalo (Arcieri della Stella) while Sara Griguoli (Pol. Pegasus) takes the bronze with 31-23 over Elisabetta Messina ( Archers Langhe and Roero).

In Arco Nudo, Matteo Seghetta (Arcieri Città della Pieve Barbacane) confirmed himself as Italian champion, beating Matteo Dessì (Arcieri Annuagras) 35-31, while Gabriele Pizzutto (Arcieri della Fenice FVG) won bronze with 33-28 over Davide Cabua (Arcieri Uras ). Also in the women’s second tricolor for the young Italian Rania Braccini (Arcieri Lucca) who gets the better of Claudia Aluzzi (Arcieri Puteoli) 28-25; third place went to Gaia Colaone (Arcieri della Fenice FVG) winning over Valeria Goldoni (Arcieri dell’Ortica) 36-28.

In the men’s longbow, gold medal for Stefano Garbarino (Le Frecce di S. Margherita) who beat Edoardo Pinna (Arcieri Uras) 21-18, while the bronze goes to Matteo Cancro (Arcieri del Grande Falco) with 18-13 over Alessio Tironi (Heron Archers). In the women’s competition, Greta Budroni (Arcieri Torres Sassari) took first place, beating Gaia Vallò (Arcieri Compagnia degli Orsi) 21-5; third place for Anita Mandis (Arcieri Uras) who won the play-off match against Emma Calcagno (Le Frecce di S. Margherita) 15-15 (5*-5).

In the men’s instinctive bow, first place went to Mattia Cabodi (Hunter Archery Team) who narrowly beats Jacopo Vukosa (Pol. Barbaiana) 26-25. Bronze medal for the defending champion Mattia Murialdo (Le Frecce di S. Margherita) winning 24-15 over Alessandro Balsamo (Arco Club Capri). In the women’s category, Asia Genovese (Arcieri del Sagittario) repeats the title won last year by beating Ylenia Bianchi (Arcieri della Volpe Bianca) 31-28; the bronze goes to Matile Cabodi (Hunter Archery Team) who beat Gioia Garinei (Arcieri Avalon) 30-28.
