Suns Refuse to Add Point Guard, Focus on Athletic Forwards for Roster

Beyond the lack of a wardrobe, the most obvious flaw in the Phoenix Suns’ roster construction seemed to be the lack of a point guard. After the transfer for Bradley Beal and the departure of DeAndre Ayton, those from Arizona filled the roster with forwards and shooters. However, they trusted Devin Booker as their conductor. rounded out by the generation added by Kevin Durant and the aforementioned Bradley Beal. This bet remains intact, according to Chris Haynes for TNT during the Suns-Lakers.

Apparently, the franchise would not be looking for a point guard to round out its squad. Not even an outsider who can help in the creation tasks as Eric Gordon is already doing, especially. In Haynes’ own words, “the organization doesn’t want anyone taking the ball out of Booker and Beal’s hands.” Instead, the offices led by James Jones have set the goal of adding one or more athletic forwards.

Position subject to change

That three position, taking into account that KD plays from the power forward, has been the most subject to testing since Frank Vogel occupied the position. Right now it is occupied by Grayson Allen, a training guard, but Josh Okogie, Keita-Bates Diop, Nassir Little and Chimezie Metu have been starters there. In fact, wing is the most populated position in the roster, so it would be expected that some of these players, adding Yuta Watanabe, Bol Bol or Jordan Goodwin; They would end up being part of a hypothetical transfer for a forward who would raise the level.

Among the candidates considered in recent weeks are names such as Royce O’Neal (Nets), PJ Tucker (does not play at all in Clippers), Kelly Olynyk (Jazz), Saddiq Bey (Hawks) or the return of Torrey Craig (Bulls ).
