Spring Training and Beyond: Baseball in Southwest Florida

Baseball is a natural fit in Southwest Florida. Every March Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins return to spring training. Young players from across the country attend our elite baseball camps every summer. And all year long, local leagues keep the spirit of the game in play.

The Minnesota Twins have called our coast their spring training destination since 1991. That same year, they won a record 21 games in spring training before winning the World Series. Hammond Stadium welcomes them back each spring but hosts minor league games year-round.

Red Sox fans may already know that their team plays more than 20 games at JetBlue Park – a state-of-the-art baseball stadium that can accommodate up to 11,000 people. The success of their 2018 and 2013 World Cup seasons was recognized by the players who started right here in Fort Myers.

Ticket prices and schedules will be released in mid-November, with ticket sales starting in December or January, so you can plan your visit to both areas in advance. Since there are baseball games almost every day during spring training, you can often snag tickets when you arrive.

In addition to the pros, watch college teams at our world-class facilities, or follow your own kids from the stands at one of the many prominent baseball camps.
