Sports Mass and Exhibitions Commemorate National Sports Day in Puerto Cabello

As is tradition, this Saturday morning, the Sports Mass was celebrated in the San José Cathedral in the Historic Center of the city, an ecclesiastical event carried out thanks to the support of the municipal management led by Juan Carlos Betancourt through the Municipal Institute for the Sport (Imdepuerto) in commemoration of National Sports Day.

The Eucharist was officiated by Father Willy Azuaje, parish priest of the San José Cathedral, in the presence of athletes, coaches, technicians, referees, administrative staff and workers who are part of the different schools and sports academies that live in the city; as well as directors of the mayor’s office and the people in general.

During his message, the parish priest spoke about the search for the essence and one’s own effort, to achieve the objectives as well as the wise men who undertook their journey looking for the footprint of God; He also blessed the sporting instruments and the athletes so that they may be filled with triumphs according to the will of God and represent Puerto Cabello in a great way.

It is noteworthy that before starting the homily, boys, girls, young people and adult athletes from the city of Buenos Aires organized outdoor exhibitions in the spaces of the renovated Plaza Bolívar, thanks to the support of Governor Rafael Lacava.

Lester Primera, president of Imdepuerto, thanked Mayor Juan Carlos Betancourt for his support, which is essential for the development of both activities related to National Sports Day.

“We are happy celebrating mass with all these people who practice sports in the town, we thank those who accompanied us on this occasion that brings us together to thank God for so many sporting achievements,” he said.

For her part, Valeria Benítez, recognized athlete and national surf team from Puerto Cabello, was grateful for all the support received from the regional and municipal management for her preparation and participation in the various sporting events she has attended at the national level. and international.
