.Reigning champions Manchester City will face Huddersfield in the FA Cup this Saturday. It’s possible that Kevin De Bruyne will play for the first time in months. In the meantime, speculation about the future of the Belgian playmaker is rife.
At the end of last season, De Bruyne was injured during the Champions League final. He therefore missed almost all of the preparation at City. Despite this, he participated in the first matches of the season. However, this did not turn out to be a good decision. Indeed, the pivot was injured again.
He even had to undergo surgery, which kept him away from the field for several months. But he has since returned to training and is expected to return to action in the coming days.
The Saudis on the lookout
A highly anticipated return to City. Meanwhile, De Bruyne is already 32 and will enter the final year of his contract next summer. It is therefore not illogical that its future is the subject of speculation.
In recent days, for example, the Red Devil has once again been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. Last summer, the Saudis had already expressed their interest. The playmaker then held back, but Saudi interest would still be present. Italian observer Rudy Galetti said this week that KDB would be ready to listen to the Saudis’ proposals at the end of the season.
His Turkish colleague Ekrem Konur, whose source is certainly not the most solid, goes further. According to him, the Saudis want to make a first attempt this winter.
To do this, they would consider an offer of around 50 million euros to convince City. But this amount seems more than insufficient to change the mind of the English champion.
A departure this winter is therefore not on the agenda. De Bruyne himself would have no desire to leave England in January.
