• At the beginning of the first set, Sinner reached 40:40 on his opponent’s serve, but lost his own serve in the next game, playing back only the first of the triple break points. In the other service games, Medvedev did not lose more than a point and won the set with another break – 6:3.
• At the beginning of the second set, Medvedev served four break points, but in the next two receiving games he broke Sinner’s serve and reached 5:1. The fight was not over – Sinner finally woke up, earned the first break points and the first break and could even recover the second break, however, Medvedev played back the break point and won 6:3.
• In the third set, the fiercest battle was in the last games. First, Sinner took serve at 40:40 and then used the only break point of the set – 6:4.

• Medvedev had won three five-set matches in this tournament, in addition he saved himself from 0-2 in two, but Sinner had lost only one set until the final (the same in a tiebreak without losing a service game) and in only two service games and in the semi-final he did not give Novak Djokovic the first racket of the world no break points.
• Until the final, Sinner beat Dutch Botik van de Zandshulp (6:4, 7:5, 6:3) and Jesper de Jong (6:2, 6:2, 6:2), Argentine Sebastian Baes (6:0, 6 :1, 6:3), neutral Karen Khachanova (6:4, 7:5, 6:3) and Andrei Rublev (6:4, 7:6(5), 6:3) and Serbian Djokovic (6:1 , 6:2, 6:7(8), 6:3).
• Medvedev lost in the Melbourne final for the third time in four years and the fifth of six Grand Slam finals in his career – the first he did not play against Djokovic (1-2, triumph in 2021 in New York) or Rafael Nadal (0-2).
• The 22-year-old Sinner reached his first Grand Slam final and only the second time he passed the quarter-final barrier.
