Sarrazens in Kitzbühel repeats compatriot Alfan’s 29-year-old achievement – Winter sports – Sportacentrs.com

When Alfans won both days in Kitzbühel in January 1995, Siprien Sarrazen was only three months old. Until this season, Sarrazen had been in the top three only twice, but this season he has already done it six times. Today, the Frenchman again showed a great performance and once again beat Marko Odermat, finishing in the top three for the fifth round in a row and taking the fourth victory of his career and the third of the season.

The last time anyone achieved this in Kitzbühel was three years ago, when Swiss Beat Foitz took two weekend wins at Hahnenham in his penultimate season.

In the last five starts in the speed disciplines, Odermats was also in the top three together with Sarrazenas, who, thanks to his excellent abilities in the giant slalom, has already earned the prized place in the tenth start in a row. The last time the great Swiss did not win an award was when he posted the 7th time in the Valgardena downhill in mid-December. Therefore, with two victories in the downhill in Kitzbühel, Sarrazen repeated what Odermatt did in Wengen a week ago.

Yesterday’s result was improved by three positions and, like a week ago, Italian Dominic Paris took third place in the Wengen downhill.
