In the beginning Saudi Tour, now AlUla Tour: fourth edition for the short stage race in Saudi Arabia. One of those 2.1 plus category races rich: in fact, nine World Tour teams were present, almost at the level of a race on the highest international circuit. Let’s find out in detail.

PATH

At least three fractions dedicated to sprinters, obviously the big climbs are missing, but on the last day, watch out for the climb that anticipates the arrival of Skyviews of Harrat Uwayrid: 800 meters with an average gradient of 12% and maximum peaks of 22% with a 9-degree rise kilometers from arrival.

Simon Yates (Jayco AlUla) has already performed well in Australia Down Under and will try to play for something important in Arabia. He double-strikes at UAE Team Emirates with the expert Rafal Majka and the young New Zealander Finn Fischer-Black. Curiosity in seeing the new Belgian baby phenomenon William Junior Lecerf (Soudal – Quick Step).

ITALIANS IN THE COMPETITION

Fourteen Italians present: curiosity to see Movistar’s new signings Lorenzo Milesi, Davide Formolo and Davide Cimolai. For the sprints there will be space for Matteo Moschetti, while Edoardo Zambanini will try to assert himself on the climbs. Debut in the Bora-hansgrohe jersey for Matteo Sobrero who can assert himself in the standings in the short stage races.
