Ribera Navarra and Shogun de Tudela Shine in the First Phase of the 2024 Children’s and Cadet Judo Sports Games of Navarra

Last Saturday, January 27, the Trinquete de Mendillorri sports center was the scene of excitement and skill in the I Phase of the 2024 Children’s and Cadet Judo Sports Games of Navarra. In this competition, the Ribera Navarra and Shogun de Tudela stood out with impressive performances.

The Shogun started strongly in the first phase of the Navarra Sports Games

Ribera Navarra shines with two champions and several outstanding players

The Ribera Navarra club demonstrated its excellence with outstanding performances in various categories. Marcos Balmont became champion in the -66 kilogram cadet category, standing out for his technique and bravery on the tatami. Adriana Viela, for her part, was unstoppable in the children’s category of less than 36 kilos, securing first place with victories for Ippon in all of her fights.

Pablo Muro and Yanira De los Santos also did honor to the club, obtaining a creditable third place and showing courage despite the adversities. In the children’s category, other judokas from Ribera Navarra shone with third places for Manuela Saborido (-48 kilos) and Carolina Pérez (-40 kilos), fifth places for Lukas Lorente (-55 kilos) and Leire Oruezábal (-52 kilos), and seventh for Leire Cortijo (-52 kilos) and Amaia Sánchez (-48 kilos).

Shogun starts the Sports Games with three first places

The Shogun club was not far behind and started strong at the Navarra 2024 Sports Games. In the cadet category, Azucena Martínez led the team with an outstanding first place. Iosu Bea, Alba Sagra and Nadiuska Aznar stood out with notable efforts, securing second places.

In the children’s category, Ilyas Rabhi and Claudia Casajús were unstoppable, achieving two first places for Shogun. Blanca Castañeda added to the success with a second place, while Alex Acuña, Julieth Gallego, Natalia Mendoza, Laura Sánchez and Alba López obtained creditable third places.

With three first places, four seconds and eleven third places in total, the Shogun team is preparing to continue shining in the coming days of the XXXVII Navarra Judo Sports Games.

The Technical Director, Félix Pastor, highlights the good work done and anticipates improvements in the following days, while the club prepares to welcome the Navarra Judo School for grades from first to fourth dan.
