The world of Cuban judo and international sports is mourning the unexpected death of Maricet Espinosa González, affectionately known as “La Mole.” This Sunday, the double Pan-American champion died at the age of 34, leaving an indelible legacy in judo and in the hearts of her followers.
Maricet Espinosa, originally from Havana, was born on January 2, 1990 and from a young age she stood out in judo, a sport in which she became an iconic figure on the Island.
