The strenuous fight against the terrible disease that had been undermining his body for some years unfortunately ended yesterday. Following, it seems, a sudden collapse. Doctor Ezio Giani in fact left us in the afternoon at the age of 73, which he recently turned.
A person with kind manners, always polite and discreet, as refined as he is (self-)ironic, Doctor Giani was among other things the reference doctor within the Cantù Basketball team for a quarter of a century. He, from Brugherio, arrived in the Allievi family’s club at the end of 1987, remaining there continuously until the summer of 2013, forming a proverbial duo with the physiotherapist Andrea Lanzi.
Once away from the Brianza of baskets, he then continued his basketball activity at Olimpia Milano for a decade.
He leaves behind his wife Antonella and his children Davide and Sara. The funeral will be celebrated on Saturday at 10.30 in Brugherio in the Church of San’Albino.
