Raffl had missed the previous games of the season after suffering a serious meniscus injury in August. “This injury could have ended my career,” said the former NHL professional looking back.

Raffl moved to Switzerland in the summer of 2022 after nine years in the North American elite league. In the first league game for Lausanne he had to come off the ice injured and then take a week-long break.
