A silver medal and another bronze medal were won by the Quindío badminton delegation that participated in the Festival of Festivals (junior category) that was held in the city of Medellín.
The silver medal was won by Lucía Barrios Fernández and Jerónimo Galviz Cortés, in the mixed doubles category; and the bronze, Barrios, in the women’s individual.
Barrios and Galviz (both 11 years old) competed in the under-13 category and, in this way, they debuted the titles they achieved in the last Departmental Intercollegiate Games. Lucía Barrios and Jerónimo Galviz were guided by coach Hugo Morales and Nicolás Morales (technical assistant).
The Festival of Festivals brought together the promises of Colombian badminton representing regions such as Antioquia, Valle del Cauca, Caldas, Risaralda, Tolima, Atlántico, Cundinamarca, Santander and Quindío, among others.
