PSG: Milan Skriniar underwent ankle surgery in Doha

PSG will probably have to cope without Milan Skriniar for some time. Victim of a major sprain in his left ankle against Toulouse during the Champions Trophy (2-0 victory), the former Milan player will miss several weeks of competition. As indicated in our columns this weekend, the player underwent retinaculum surgery this Monday at the ASPETAR hospital in Doha (Qatar).

Already out of the round of 16 of the Champions League against Real Sociedad, both on the first leg and on the return leg, he suffers from “a dislocation of the lateral peroneal bones of the left ankle”, indicates the club. If its exact duration of unavailability is not yet known, it could well extend over several weeks, or even several months.

“Unfortunately, after the match, the doctors examined Skriniar and he needed an operation. Until this and the result, we will not be able to know the duration of his unavailability. It’s sad, like every time a player gets injured,” declared Parisian coach Luis Enrique before the 32nd final of the Coupe de France between his players and US Revel (9-0 victory).

As a reminder, the capital club will not be able to count on Presnel Kimpembe anytime soon either. Having undergone surgery on his right Achilles tendon last week, the 2018 world champion nevertheless made his return to the PSG Campus this Monday. Finally, Nuno Mendes continues his individual sessions on the sidelines of the Parisian group.
