The president of the Council of Ministers, Alberto Otárola Peñaranda, introduced the new executive director of the Special Legacy Project, Carlos Zegarra Presser, and ratified the Government’s commitment to strengthening the capacities of the institution and continuing to promote sport at the national level.
Premier Alberto Otárola stated that the appointment of Zegarra Presser to the executive management of Legado represents a new boost for the entity.
“We are going to promote Legado’s approach to State institutions, maintaining efficiency and proper management of the resources and infrastructure under its charge.“he added.
Director Carlos Zegarra Presser, appointed by ministerial resolution 017-2024-PCM, was the first Peruvian judoka in history to win a medal for Peru at the Rio 2007 Pan American Games.
Likewise, he has held management positions as president of the Pan-American Judo Confederation, and in sports management as national director of Recreation and Sports Promotion at the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD).
During the presentation, Premier Otárola and Director Zegarra toured the Legado Videna headquarters, where various summer workshops are held for girls, boys and adolescents, who can practice various sports such as volleyball, gymnastics, track cycling, among others.
